Tractor Belt

A Tractor Belt is a chain that attaches the backhoe or snow shovel to the tractor itself. It is used to extend the arm of the machine, and the rotation of the belt can be used to vary the pressure or direction of the rotors. There are three types of Tractor Belt that are available in the market; namely, chain driven, belt driven and chain-drive Tractors. Belt driven Tractors has idler pulley, counterweight and rotor assembly that are mounted on to the tractor frame itself whereas belt driven ones have separate drive and idler pulley system that are mounted on the tractor.

The chain driven belt is generally made of steel, brass or aluminum and has a wider range of speeds compared to the other two types of Tractor Belts. This type of belt is generally made up of three components; the main belt, the main chain and the back or forth belt. The main belt contains the material for the rotation of the blades, while the back or forth belt carries the rotors and other parts needed to manipulate the blades. This belt is fitted with a pulley system that is fitted with an idler or counterweight system that is fixed to the tractor deck.

In some lawn mower belts, there is a choice of using either screw drives or belt drives. Belt drives are more reliable and easier to install and remove. However, they do not provide a high speed of rotation like the screw drives do. Screw drives, on the other hand, have a higher speed of rotation than the belt drives. The belt drive consists of a number of metal cylinders that are all moving together. This method is more expensive than the belt drive.
