Tractor Driveline
Here's a quick, easy DIY project for anyone with an interest in do-it-yourself projects (even if you're not the best do it yourself). Installing a Tractor Driveline Guard/dresser. This Instructable shows you how to install a new tractor driveline guard (or guard) onto a tractor's driveline. But, even more important than the installation details shown, the simple steps shown here improve the overall safety of your drivelines. A drivelines guard/dresser protects your drivelines from possible damage from falling tree limbs, equipment collisions and more, while also providing an aesthetically pleasing and functional improvement to your yard.
First, measure your tractor's dimensions, including any cross sections. You'll need those measurements later to make sure the new guard is the right size to fit. Download an image of your tractor's drivelines onto your computer. The measurement of the inner perimeter of each panel must be three inches wider than the widest point on that panel. For the outer perimeter, simply use two inches per panel. This should give you a complete rough outline of your newly-installed drivelines guard/dresser, which will allow you to accurately measure and cut the panels after you've located the cutting points on your tractor's drivelines.
With the panels ready, you're ready to start! Start by assembling all the pieces of the tractor drivelines guard/dresser as tightly as possible into one piece. Once all the panels are in place, carefully screw the assembly together and attach a cable tie to the rear, center, or side of the guard/dresser. The cable tie ensures the assembly remains tight and in place through all the adjustments you'll need to make.
